Do Not Grant Chemical Manufacturers a Blanket Immunity!
On behalf of concerned families, public health advocates, and citizens across this country, we respectfully urge you all to take action and request the AG Committee strike Sections 10204 through 10207 of the 2026 Farm Bill. These provisions amend the Federal Insecticide, Fungicide, and Rodenticide Act (FIFRA) in ways that would fundamentally undermine public health protections, state authority, and the constitutional role of the courts.
The Farm Bill creates a De Facto liability shield. Section 10204 prohibits states, local governments, and courts from imposing or enforcing labeling or warning requirements that differ in any way from those approved by the EPA. In practice, these blocks injured Americans from holding pesticide manufacturers accountable—even when evidence shows companies failed to warn consumers of known risks.
Let's take a stand against this bill and protect the health and safety of all Americans.

FAQ:
What is “Consent Calendar” and “Suspense File”?
The Appropriations Committees review bills that have a fiscal impact. Because there are so many bills to review, the committee can group together bills that are not controversial, receive no dissenting votes in the preceding policy committee, and that have little fiscal impact for fast approval. These bills are put on the “Consent Calendar” and is the means by which many bills can be approved without further discussion. Any bill that has an estimated cost of $150,000 or more is sent to the “Suspense File” to later be evaluated based on available revenue in the state budget. No testimony is presented – author or witness – at the Suspense File hearing.
