PERK: 5 Years of Impact
Over the past five years, PERK has led more than 1,000 policy meetings, helped defeat, veto, or amend over 16 harmful bills, supported the passage of 25 pro-freedom bills, and successfully defeated mandates across the state. These legislative victories include preventing children from being removed from their parents, defeating statewide vaccine passports, stopping efforts to strip funding from law enforcement, saving charter schools, protecting freedom of speech, preventing raids on doctors’ files, blocking minors from receiving medical treatments without parental consent, defeating a statewide COVID shot mandate for all Californians—from babies to the elderly—and stopping attempts to punish or criminalize parents at school board meetings.
PERK has also trained more than 2,000 advocates, led 170+ organizations in targeted coalition work, and built 30 strategic partnerships nationwide. Through education initiatives, PERK has activated 13,000+ advocates and produced 125+ shareable resources, including letters, templates, and guides. These efforts fuel massive action, resulting in more than 5 million citizen actions, over 25 national campaigns, and 50 advocacy trips across the country.
In litigation, PERK has won or settled 4 major cases, protecting 140,000+ first responders, city, and county employeesfrom mass termination and preserving the rights of more than 6 million school-age children by stopping harmful mandates. PERK’s reach continues to expand, with over 2 million social media engagements and more than 25 million people reached through rallies, interviews, podcasts, and national media.
