Action Needed Urgently for the Farm Bill
Dear PERK Community,
I’ve been in Washington D.C. for the past few days for the People Vs. Poison rally and additionally to join other organizations to meet with members of Congress regarding the farm bill.
We need you! We need your voice now! The Farm Bill is being heard and voted on now. We are asking all PERK members to call or email your member of Congress and ask them to vote Yes on the Luna Amendment.

This morning, Congressman Thomas Massie said this, “Last night’s Rules Committtee resolution is a mixed bag, but if it passes the House today, there WILL BE A VOTE to strip the troubling state labeling ban & immunity shield for pesticides from the Farm Bill. Tell your congressman to VOTE YES for the Luna amendment! #MAHA”

The Luna Amendment Removes Harmful Sections in the Farm Bill: It Removes:
*SEC. 10205: UNIFORMITY OF PESTICIDE LABELING REQUIREMENTS. This section blocks states, local, and court rights and effectively gives immunity for lawsuits.
Sec. 10206: Bans local governments from implementing local pesticide restrictions, meaning that hundreds of towns and cities across the country will lose protections put in place to stop glyphosate use in schools, playgrounds, and community parks.
Sec. 10207: Loosens restrictions on pesticides sprayed directly into bodies of water, threatening safe drinking water by allowing excess chemical contamination. Section 10207 overrides all other laws, potentially weakening environmental oversight, and delaying overdue toxicity reviews.
