PROPOSITION 50 – A POWER GRAB IN DISGUISE

STOP PROPOSITION 50 – PROTECT CALIFORNIA’S DEMOCRACY!

For more than five years, PERK has stood at the tip of the spear defending parental rights, medical freedom, and fair governance. Now, Proposition 50 threatens to undo vital protections for fair and transparent elections in California.

What Is Proposition 50?

Proposition 50 is a proposed California constitutional amendment that would temporarily transfer the authority to draw congressional district maps from the independent Citizens Redistricting Commission to the state Legislature for the 2026, 2028, and 2030 elections. After 2030, the power would revert to the independent commission.

Why PERK Opposes Proposition 50

PERK opposes Proposition 50 because it undermines California’s independent redistricting process, allowing partisan politicians to manipulate district lines and consolidate power. This measure would weaken accountability, increase polarization, and diminish public trust in elections.

Firsthand Warning from a 20-Year Postal Worker

“I worked in postal service and management for 20 years. There is not a postmark date on the return envelopes because it’s pre-printed postage and a business reply mail. That means there’s no way to verify the final date it’s postmarked. It doesn’t go through the stamp-canceling machine, so it will not have a postmark for when it was entered into the system. It’s in a separate category.”

The solution: take your ballot directly to an official ballot drop box or voting center. When officials say ballots can be counted until November 11, remember they’ll already know by the evening of November 4 how short they are on votes. Deliver your ballot in person before Election Day to ensure it’s counted.”
