Announcing PERK Academy Classroom Sponsorship Program

PERK academy Sponsorship Program

Dear PERK Members,

PERK Academy, an education initiative of PERK, exists to give students a personal, experiential connection to their constitutional rights and founding principles so that liberty becomes part of their identity rather than a chapter they skim.

What will your kids remember about 1776?

The Declaration of Independence shouldn't just be something students read about. What if they could step inside Independence Hall, meet the people who were there, wrestle with the words of the Declaration, and sign their own name alongside the Founders?

PERK is excited to launch a new U.S. History resource for families, homeschoolers, and classrooms built around 1776: Signing the Declaration, an interactive learning experience from Immersive History.

Across the nation children are being poorly taught from both public and private education institutions. They are taught to hate the foundation of America or are not taught the fundamental lessons of the Constitution. This can be deeply damaging to families, communities, and our country’s future.

To make it easy to use, we've also created a free printable student activity curriculum that guides students through the Declaration, the Founders, and the ideas behind American independence.

Wondering what to teach when you get to the founding of America? Start here.

Students can:

  • Explore Independence Hall in 1776

  • Meet Thomas Jefferson, Benjamin Franklin, John Adams, and Charles Thomson

  • Discover the ideas and debates behind the Declaration

  • Complete interactive historical activities

  • Use the printable student worksheet to continue learning off-screen

Thomas Jefferson

Benjamin Franklin

John Adams

Charles Thomson

Want to help bring it to more students?

Through the PERK Academy Classroom Sponsorship Program, a $150 donation gives an entire classroom of up to 30 students access to the experience and curriculum year after year.

We have already begun sponsoring students, and our goal is to put this resource into the hands of classrooms and homeschool families across the country.

Whether you use it with your own children, share it with a teacher, or sponsor a classroom, you can help the next generation do more than memorize American history.

Let them experience it.

Sincerely,

Amy Bohn Co-Founder and CEO, PERK
